(File photo.) A Labrador MHA is excited to see the completion of the paving of the Trans-Labrador Highway, but says the work to connect Labrador is far from over. The motorway was first announced in 1973, with governments carrying out some aspects of the project since then. The last lick of pavement was laid yesterday. Labrador West MHA Jordan Brown says the scale of the project was huge. Photo via Twitter He says about $1 billion has gone into the street since 1997. He calls it a “mega project” that people didn’t even know was happening. While completing the paving is an important step, Brown says the work shouldn’t stop there. He says not one shovelful of soil has been turned to connect Northern Labrador. He says the highway is not complete until it hits Nain.
