Allen, 86, spoke in a rare interview with actor Alec Baldwin about his career and his new book Zero Gravity, a collection of humorous essays. “A lot of the emotion is gone,” he said of making films. “When I made a movie, it went to a movie theater all over the country. “Now you make a movie and you have a few weeks in a movie theater, maybe six weeks or four weeks, and then it goes straight to streaming or pay-per-view. “It’s not that pleasant for me.” Allen did not give details about his upcoming film, which would be his 50th. The four-time Oscar-winning director of Annie Hall and other comedies has repeatedly denied allegations that he abused his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, in 1992. Many celebrities and executives in Hollywood walked away from Allen after the #MeToo movement became global in 2017 and gave new attention to sexual misconduct. HBO reconsidered the allegation against him in the 2021 series Allen v Farrow. Baldwin, who has appeared in three of Allen’s films, did not raise the issue during the interview, which was broadcast live on his Instagram page. On Sunday, the actor wrote on Instagram that he had “zero interest in anyone’s crises and sanctifying posts” about his scheduled interview.
