Show only key events Supporters may have their predictions on who will win, but Norway’s Ada Hegerberg can’t determine who will take the crown. The star believes there will be some surprise results at this year’s tournament, telling UEFA: “Obviously I want to see us lift the EURO [trophy], but there are many steps before that and predicting the EURO winner is very difficult. Obviously, you have England, France… Sweden is always a strong team you can count on. “It’s a long tournament. it’s hard It’s all about taking it step by step. There will definitely be surprises, but I can’t tell you who will win it.” “It wouldn’t just be a surprise, but a sensation,” are the words of Austria coach Irene Fuhrmann on what it would mean to stop England winning tonight. The Lionesses are heavy favorites for the match and the last time the two teams played each other in November, England won 1-0. The Austria boss knows what his team needs to do to earn points. “On paper, anything short of an England win would not just be a surprise, but a sensation,” Fuhrmann said. “England are very strong, determined, have high attacking quality and are the top favorites for the European Championship title for me. “But we are happy that we have been given this game because it will be a unique experience. We want to extract as much energy as possible from this atmosphere.” Photo: Naomi Baker/Getty Images Christine got in touch via email and said: “I love the way the images of the main players are lit on buildings in London. “Have a great time!” I have loved it too! The multiplayer one on the cliff of Dover was a particular highlight for me. Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Eli Brazil, who left Brighton earlier this month. The forward has agreed a deal until 2024 and Spurs boss Rehanne Skinner is delighted. The manager said: “I am delighted to welcome Eli to Spurs. Having significant experience in England youth teams and having played club football at home and in Europe, he has a huge base of experience which will strengthen the team, but he has years ahead of him in his career as well.” We are delighted to announce the signing of Ellie Brazil 🤝 — Tottenham Hotspur Women (@SpursWomen) July 6, 2022 Updated at 10.37 BST Fans may be excited for the tournament to begin, but England captain Leah Williamson says she and the team will experience nerves. The Lionesses begin their campaign for their first major tournament trophy tonight against Austria, kick-off 8pm. “There will be nerves,” the skipper said. “We’re aware of the expectation, but through the camp it’s all about enjoying it.” He added: “We know what it is, we know what to expect and we are ready for it. Everyone has their own things in place to be able to deal with it. “Pressure is a privilege, so it’s something we embrace and it comes with it – it’s part of the job.” Read the full piece: Updated at 10.37 BST In a blow for Spain, just a day before the Euros begin, star player Alexia Putela has been ruled out through injury.
