The fourth season wrapped up with a second volume that aired on Friday (July 1), and viewers were worried that their favorite character wouldn’t make it out alive. In episode eight, Matthew Modine’s Dr Martin Brenner appears to actually meet his maker, having initially thought he was lost in season one. But it’s the death in episode nine that moved fans: Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn). Although he was only introduced in the fourth season of the show, Eddie made a strong impression on the viewers. Fans took to social media to mourn his sacrifice for the show’s fictional town of Hawkins. Fans are especially moved by the fact that, all season long, the residents of Hawkins have been hunting Eddie, believing him to be responsible for Vecna’s murders. A witch led against the character, which did not stop him from dying to save everyone – and the worst part is that his fellow citizens do not even know about it. “Eddie died to protect a city that will remember him as a killer,” wrote one fan, while another added: “My man risked his life for a city that dragged his name in DIRT.” “Ba Eddy didn’t deserve to come out to a town that hated him,” said one fan.
