Warning: Some people may find the video disturbing. Several people had a little more excitement than usual at the Central Park ballpark this weekend. In a video posted to Reddit, a black bear can be seen charging down the track, chasing a group of Canada geese through a group of people. As the bear runs through the area, the people scatter, although the bear appears to be fixated on a goose, which appears to be a goose. The video ends when the bear catches it. The video was shot over Canada Day weekend at the popular Burnaby park, which borders Vancouver. There are no reports of the bear being attacked or injured while in the area. A second video appears to show the same bear at the same time in Central Park, near Patterson Station. This video was taken on July 2, around 2:30 p.m., according to Sebastian Plusa, who posted it online. A group of people follow the bear into the park from a distance. Commentators on the online video noted with surprise how deep it went into the city. Central Park is quite far from the large forested areas that bears prefer. Burnaby Lake Park is less than 5km away. from Central Park, but is also disconnected from large tracts of forest. Vancouver Is Awesome has reached out to the Ministry of Environment to confirm if the bear has been tranquilized and removed from the area.
