The Vancouver restaurant is looking for its next owners, but after searching far and wide to no avail, the Wallflower Diner is closing its doors for good. “We were really hoping that someone would be able to pick up the pieces and preserve the legacy, but everyone is devastated.” the owners shared on social media. The cozy corner that serves brunch, burgers and drinks has survived the pandemic, a feat that has kept co-owners Heather Szilagyi and Eric Neilson hard at work. “Eric and I are extremely proud to have kept The Wallflower through the pandemic. We’ve been working non-stop for a long time,” they shared online. The Wallflower Diner was known for its quirkiness and making vegetarian and vegan versions of its dishes. The owners even hosted a Rick Moranis-themed art show (there’s also a cool video about that). Vancouverites have a few days to dine before the final day of dining on July 12th.
