This is obviously terrible news for WSU, as the Cougars want to continue to be relevant at the highest level of the college track and field – and continue to reap the financial benefits of this deal. The next Pac-12 media rights deal is just around the corner, and the conference’s negotiating position is being massively weakened without both Los Angeles schools on the television footprint. We will update this story as we have more information – and I think I will have some thoughts that will be a little more coherent at some point today – but for now, have them in the comments.
