City police say the person was pronounced dead after being taken to Peterborough Regional Health Center. Police said Saturday that the situation did not involve an active shooter. Officers were at the scene in Park and Sherbrooke as the search continued on Saturday night. The area was cordoned off, with yellow tape surrounding one of the houses on the street. A witness told The Examiner that he heard what sounded like gunshots from the area of the home earlier.
