By Samantha Lawson Posted July 3, 2022 at 8:18 am Peel Regional Police are responding to two overnight collisions in Mississauga and Brampton that left two people dead and a baby injured. Police were initially called to the intersection of Derry Rd. West and Ninth Line in Mississauga at 10:30 p.m. July 2 for a two-vehicle crash. A 20-year-old passenger with serious injuries was located at the scene and later succumbed to his injuries in hospital. The 20-year-old driver was rushed to hospital and remains in serious condition. The driver of the second vehicle, a man in his 40s, suffered non-life threatening injuries. Police say the investigation is still ongoing. The junction was closed in all directions but has now reopened. Additionally, at 12:30 a.m., Peel Regional Police responded to a fatal collision in Brampton on Creditview Rd. and Wanless Dr area. Police arrived on scene to find a two vehicle crash with one of the occupants ejected from one vehicle. The 29-year-old male passenger who ejected was pronounced dead. In the second vehicle was a family, including her nine-month-old baby. Police say the father escorted the baby to an ambulance while the mother was taken to a trauma center in critical condition. The family is reportedly doing well and recovering in hospital. Police say the male driver of the first vehicle has been taken into custody on impaired driving charges. 29-year-old Supinder Singh of Brampton has been charged with Operation While Impaired Causing Death as well as three counts of Operation While Impaired Causing Bodily Harm. The Major Collision Office was on scene investigating the severity of the injuries.
