Moments later, Finance Minister Rishi Sunak also announced his resignation. The resignations came as Johnson apologized for what he said was a mistake in not realizing former whip Chris Pincher was unfit for a government job following sexual harassment allegations against him. “In hindsight, it was a mistake. I apologize to everyone who has been greatly affected by this,” Johnson told broadcasters.
