The RCMP confirms that two men were killed and one was seriously injured in a head-on collision in Trans Canada near the Blue Canoe Campground at the weekend. The crash near Springdale forced the highway to close for several hours on Saturday morning as emergency personnel rushed to the scene. Police say the driver and the only passenger of one of the vehicles, a 64-year-old, died on the spot. The 19-year-old driver of the second vehicle and his co-driver were transported to the hospital, where the young driver left his last breath in his injuries. The roads were wet at the time of the crash, with periods of heavy rain and water accumulation on the highway. The investigation continues.
