The driver of an SUV was killed when the vehicle crashed into a bridge on MacDonald Street near Parr Line west of Exeter at 4:40 p.m., Huron OPP said. The driver, whose name has not been released, was the only person in the vehicle. Earlier Monday afternoon, one person was killed and four people were injured in a head-on collision in Oxford County. An SUV and a vehicle collided at about 1:15 p.m. on Hofstetter Road in Blandford-Blenheim north of the town of Plattsville, according to Oxford OPP. The driver of the vehicle died at the hospital, police said. The driver of the SUV and three children were taken to the hospital, one child by ambulance, with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, police said. The identity of the driver who died is being released while police have notified the family. Hofstetter Road is closed between Oxford/Waterloo Road and Township Road 14 while police investigate the crash. Acting Sgt. Ed Sanchuk said on social media that investigators believe another vehicle was in the area at the time of the crash and would like to speak with the driver. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Oxford OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
