Cpl. BC RCMP spokesperson Alex Bérubé says the suspects are 22-year-old twins Duncan, Mathew and Isaac Auchterlonie. RCMP say the two suspects were not known to police prior to the incident. The families asked for privacy. A motive has not yet been determined. RCMP believe there may be others with more information about the brothers and are asking anyone with information to speak to police. Investigators confirm the two suspects are connected to the suspect vehicle, a white 1992 Toyota Camry, four-door with two black racing stripes over the hood and roof. Additional suspects are being investigated, but investigators have determined that only the two suspects were at the bank. The Independent Research Office of K.S. continues to investigate the officers’ actions. Berube did not have an update on the condition of the three wounded officers. On June 28, two suspects were killed after a robbery at the BMO Bank in Saanich on Shelbourne Street. Six police officers were injured in the shooting. On June 30, Saanich Police Chief Dean Duthie told reporters that three of the injured had been released from hospital and three remained in hospital for treatment. The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) is leading the robbery investigation and has been working with the provincial coroner’s office to identify the suspects, both men, and notify next of kin. At the June 30 press conference, police provided few details about the shooting. On June 29, officers said a vehicle believed to belong to the suspects was found with explosives, which had been safely disposed of.
