Trudeau says electric delivery trucks started rolling off the line today at General Motors’ CAMI manufacturing plant in Ingersoll, Ont., which has been renovated to build the company’s BrightDrop brand of all-electric vehicles. The premier was joined by Ford and provincial Economic Development Minister Vic Fedelli to mark the milestone. Current trend Current trend The provincial and federal governments have each invested $259 million in GM’s $2 billion plan to transform its plant in Ingersoll and repair its plant in Oshawa, Ont. to make it ready for electric vehicles. The federal government says the Ingersoll plant is expected to build 50,000 electric vehicles by 2025.
