A horrific accident on the Trans-Canada Highway near the Hodgewater Line claimed the lives of three people last night. Around 11 p.m., the Whitbourne RCMP received a report of a vehicle catching fire outside the TCH, where a truck and a closed trailer were engulfed in flames under the overpass. The truck was traveling east before leaving the road. After extinguishing the fire, firefighters located the bodies of three occupants of the truck — a 27-year-old woman and two men, aged 25 and 40. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has been hired and the investigation is ongoing.
