Rolling Stone tuned into the station on Wednesday afternoon and was still playing the 1992 track on the loop, only two DJs imitating Zack de la Rocha’s grunts in the song – “A little further down… close enough” a female DJ told her partner . The memorable grunts come before the caustic outro of the singer of “Fuck you, I will not do to do you them”, which of course was left out of the radio reruns. Several Twitter users have noticed that disc jockeys have occasionally interrupted the loop to receive call requests for the same song. (The same thing happened when Rolling Stone was tuned in.) An NBC News reporter said a disc jockey went on the air to say, “You’re probably wondering what’s going on.” The song was originally written by the band as a protest song against police violence. “Now you do what you were told,” de La Rocha screams in the pre-choir. On Wednesday morning, Tom Morello retweeted a fan who pointed out the radio protest. “The Vancouver pop radio station fired all its staff yesterday,” the tweet read. “Whoever is on the controls this morning plays Killing In The Name Of a repeat from 6 p.m. (it is now 9:30). @KevinLimOnAir @Sonia_Sidhu It’s beautiful. ” Today was our last show on KiSS RADiO. Thank you for everything ♥ pic.twitter.com/rRZHySgkMU – Kevin Lim (@KevinLimOnAir) June 28, 2022 The two fired records, Sonia Sidhu and Kevin Lim, shared statements on their social media about the changes in the radio station. “KISS is changing and unfortunately we have been informed that we will not be part of this new chapter. “Although this is accompanied by mixed emotions, we want to express an overwhelming emotion: gratitude,” wrote Lim and Sidhu. “We are so incredibly grateful to all those who shared their mornings with us and invited us into their lives through our radio and podcast. We never took you for granted. “
