Police are investigating three similar armed robberies within hours of each other Saturday, all in the northeast metro area of St. John’s. The first occurred just after 8am yesterday at a business in the city’s east end, where a man demanded cash while threatening staff with a gun but fled empty-handed. Less than 30 minutes later, a similar scene unfolded at a business in Logy Bay, with the male suspect making off with an undisclosed amount of cash, again running from the scene. Hours later, a third armed robbery was reported in the city’s east end, with the suspect again threatening staff with a gun before fleeing with cash in hand. The RNC did not specify the weapons used or the specific businesses targeted. So far no arrests have been made in either robbery.
