A nine-year-old boy is recovering in hospital after falling seven meters to the ground from a zipline on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. The boy was at the TreeTop Challenge in Woombye around 3.25pm. on Sunday when the accident occurred. He was about 50 meters into the course when he fell, sustaining back and abdominal injuries. Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman Lawrence Kleinberg said the nine-year-old was awake and talking throughout the ordeal. X-rays will be taken to see if there are any spinal injuries. Emergency services are seen at the park following the accident on Sunday afternoon Police and workplace health and safety officers were at the scene late on Sunday night. The boy appears to have been at the park with his family. The Treetop Challenge offers 12 ziplines ranging from three to 35 meters above the ground. Its website describes it as the “tallest, largest and most thrilling high ropes adventure park” in the country.
