Sky’s upcoming drama series This England, which stars Kenneth Branagh in heavy make-up as UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, will not reshoot scenes. Questions about the possibility have arisen in light of the chaotic events in British politics over the past 48 hours, which have seen a revolt in his Conservative government and more than 50 resignations in less than two days – which ultimately led to Johnson’s resignation just hours ago. Led by “The Trip” creator Michael Winterbottom, the series focuses specifically on the first part of Johnson’s tenure as prime minister that unfolded during the first wave of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Johnson struggled to cope with the health crisis and was even hospitalized with COVID-19 himself at one point. Branagh was cast in the project early last year. The limited series is currently in post-production and is on track to premiere in the Autumn – when a new UK Prime Minister is expected to be sworn in. #ThisEngland, based on Boris Johnson’s tumultuous first months as UK Prime Minister and starring BAFTA and Oscar winner Kenneth Branagh. #UnmissableSky pic.twitter.com/h6rNkyvcjd — Sky TV (@skytv) May 18, 2022 Source: Variety Previous articleFirst trailer: Skydance Animation’s “Luck” Next articleSony warned about Feige’s Marvel projects?
