California Democrat Eric Swalwell appeared to compare fellow Republican Rep. Lauren Bobert of Colorado to the suspect in Monday’s mass shooting in Highland Park, Illinois that left six people dead and dozens injured. Swalwell posted the tweet Tuesday appearing to compare the Highland Park, Illinois, gunman who killed six people and injured more than 30 at a Fourth of July parade in Bobert. “Let’s start drawing straight lines,” Swalwell wrote on his congressional Twitter account, posting a Bobert’s photo holding an AR-15 rifle next to a photo of the suspect, Robert Crimo III. HIGHLAND PARK MAYOR: ROBERT CRIMO III’S GUN ‘LEGALLY TAKEN’ Swalwell’s tweet could also suggest that the alleged shooter was inspired by Boebert. The post came a day after the massacre. Boebert told Fox News Digital that she realizes “Eric Swalwell is not a fan of our constitutional rights and is desperate to distract from his repeated political failures, but the only straight line to draw is from Eric Swalwell to Fang Fang. Chinese Communist Party”. “I will make sure that line is drawn when we take back the House,” Bobert continued. “Law-abiding gun owners will not get dirty and disarm every time a failed presidential candidate in California gets out of bed with a Chinese spy and tries to blame us for the behavior of others.” Rep. Lauren Boebert hit back at Rep. Eric Swalwell’s tweet comparing her to the suspect in Monday’s mass shooting in Highland Park, Illinois, saying law-abiding gun owners like her “won’t get dirty.” (Tom Williams/CQ-Roll Call, Inc via Getty Images) The nation witnessed horror Monday after gunfire erupted at Highland Park’s Independence Day parade, sending attendees running for their lives. Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering told NBC’s “Today” show that the gun suspect used in the deadly July 4th parade was “lawfully arrested” — and now the U.S. needs to review its gun laws next. The Illinois mayor said she expects prosecutors on Tuesday to file charges against the 22-year-old accused of killing at least six and wounding more than 30 in Monday’s attack. The mayor added that she was Crimo’s Cub Scout leader as a child, describing him as “just a little boy.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP “It’s one of those things where you take a step back and say, ‘What happened?’” Rotering said. “How did someone get so angry, so hateful, to take it out on innocent people?” Swalwell’s communications director, Jessica Gail, falsely claimed in an email to FOX News Digital that the network was not covering shootings across America and wrote that if you were “not killed or injured in a mass shooting” over the holiday weekend, “chances are to have second thoughts about going to a public event.” “We are a country of unlimited weapons where the most dangerous people have access to the most dangerous weapons,” Gail claimed. “No elected leader in America fetishizes a dangerous individual’s access to military-style weapons more than Congressman Boebert.” “And we’re not going to stop calling her and her pro-killer colleagues,” he continued.
