The letters, dated Friday and released by a court spokesman on Saturday to reporters, refer to protests that have been going on “for weeks.” They cite the arrest near the home of Judge Brett Kavanaugh in June of a man later charged by the Justice Department with attempting or threatening to kidnap or kill a US judge.
