He said several police officers had been taken to different hospitals. Floyd County Sheriff’s Department posted on social media early Friday morning that the incident was fatal. There is no information on the number of people involved who lost their lives. Sheriff Hunt said lawmakers were trying to deliver a court order issued when the incident began Thursday afternoon. As of 9:30 p.m., he said the suspect was still blocked. In a news release during the 11 p.m. news release, Kentucky police said the suspect is in custody. The sheriff said the suspect opened fire when police responded. The KSP said the incident started around 6pm This Allen area, near the intersection of US 23 and State Route 1428, is closed for miles. Earlier Thursday night, the sheriff said he hoped for a peaceful resolution of the situation. Kentucky Gov.
