Few details have been released so far about the incident, which police described on Twitter as a “serious incident.” A Winnipeg police duty officer said it happened around 2 a.m., but did not release details about the person who was taken to hospital. Police initially blocked traffic in both directions on Ellice Avenue between Furby and Langside streets, but said the road was open in both directions just after 9:30 a.m.
