Donetsk Governor Pavlo Kirilenko said in a Telegram post on Wednesday morning that two people were killed in Avdiyivka, one in Sloviansk, one in Krasnohorivka and one in Kurakhove. “Every crime will be punished,” he wrote. Kirilenko on Tuesday urged the province’s more than 350,000 residents to leave, saying the evacuation of people from Donetsk was necessary to save lives and allow the Ukrainian army to better defend the cities from the Russian advance. Russian forces also hit Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city further north, with missiles overnight, Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Syniehubov said on Telegram on Wednesday. Three districts of the city were targeted, Syniehubov said, and a university building was destroyed, as well as an administrative building. Three people, including a small child, were injured, according to the governor.
