Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that Russian occupation forces carried out an airstrike on Zmiinyi (Snake) Island on July 1, dropping phosphorus bombs on the island. Source: Zaluzhnyi on Facebook Quote: “The command of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation does not even live up to its own statements of “good will”. Around 18:00 today [on 1 July 2022 – ed.]two Su-30 planes of the Aerospace Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out two air strikes with phosphorus bombs on Zmiinyi (Snake) Island from the Bilbek airfield, having previously claimed to have “completed” their mission there. Everyone who talks about making any kind of deals with Russia should be aware of these facts. The only thing the enemy is really consistent about is the ‘accuracy’ of their attacks.” Earlier:
On Thursday, June 30, Russian occupation forces abandoned Zmiinyi (Snake) Island after Ukrainian forces launched multiple attacks against it, some of them with Ukrainian Bohdana howitzers. Russian authorities claimed that Russian military forces reportedly “completed their mission on Zmiinyi (Snake) Island” and withdrew the garrison stationed there “as a goodwill gesture”.
