The Royal Canadian Navy has announced that it has released the commander of a warship in the Pacific Fleet. In a release Thursday night, the Navy says it has lost confidence in the Lt.-Cmdr crisis. David Dallin of HMCS Regina. The Navy says it took action following an incident that recently took place on another boat during naval training. Details of what happened were not made public. Commodore David Mazur, commander of the Canadian Pacific Fleet, said in a statement that the incident remained under investigation but involved “inappropriate behavior”. The Navy says Cmdr. Megan Coach has now taken over command of HMCS Regina, a Halifax-class frigate based at Esquimalt, Canada. “The RCN expects all its members to exercise appropriate institutional judgment at all times, especially when they have clear leadership or management roles,” the navy said in a statement. The Navy says Dalin will serve in other roles in the Pacific Navy at Canada’s Esquimalt Base until the investigation is completed. This Canadian Press report was first published on June 30, 2022
