Video obtained by CBS News shows Denise Pessina yelling and gesturing at officers on McDaniels Avenue in Highland Park on Monday as a massive manhunt for her son was underway. Denise Pesina, Robert Crimo’s mother, confronted a SWAT team as authorities searched for her son (CBS News) It is not clear what the confrontation was, but the network reported that Ms. Pessina was in contact with police for several hours after the shooting at the Independence Day parade. It also emerged that a business owned by Ms. Pessina had a mailbox at a UPS store just a few blocks from where Monday’s shooting took place. Police have sealed off the UPS Store and no one has been able to enter it since Monday, CBS News reported. Ms Pessina shouted at reporters to “get off my property” as she left the family’s home on Tuesday, the first time she had been seen since Monday. Ms. Pesina and the suspect’s father, Bob Crimo Sr., have retained high-profile Chicago attorney Steve Greenberg. Greenberg said Wednesday that the parents are being wrongly accused because their son obtained the high-powered weapon used in Monday’s deadly attack.
