The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is trying to crack down on aggressive driving and illegal vehicle modifications this summer. As the weather continues to warm, more people will be traveling in communities and highways. RNC Traffic Services and Operational Patrol Services will work with Highway Enforcement to ensure the roads remain safe. Police say speeding, tardiness, distracted driving and impaired driving continue to put people at risk across the province, and illegal vehicle modifications that increase noise production remain an issue. The RNC is asking anyone who witnesses impaired or aggressive driving or illegal vehicle modifications to contact them or Crime Stoppers. They are also asking residents not to post about police checkpoints on social media to prevent offenders from continuing to endanger the community.
