A Kelowna officer was one of many who helped welcome Ukrainian refugees to the city. About 100 Ukrainian refugees who will now live in the Central Okanagan and surrounding area recently attended the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Kelowna. Cpl. Dabiri shared a number of topics including the duties of a police officer and the public’s expectations of the RCMP. “These people have had their lives turned upside down, so it’s important that they know we’re here to support them and they’re safe,” said Cpl. Dabiri said. Included in the presentation were potential employers from Kelowna, other community leaders and information about Kelowna booths with the Ukrainian organization.
