The footballer, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested in north London. The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that an allegation of the rape of a woman in her 20s has been made to police. The force said the alleged rape allegedly happened in June 2022. In a statement, the meeting said the man was “arrested at an address in Barnet on suspicion of rape and taken into custody where he remains. Inquiries into the circumstances are ongoing”.
