Officers were called to the block in Saville Green, Leeds, by the ambulance service at around 1.25pm. on Saturday. The baby was taken to hospital for emergency treatment but was pronounced dead a short time later, West Yorkshire Police said. Inquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances of his death, the force added. “The incident is being treated as a sudden unexpected childhood death and we are asking people to consider the family and respect their privacy at what is clearly a very difficult time for them,” a spokesman said.
