Megan Markle opens up about how she and Prince Harry’s husband reacted to Roe’s overthrow against Wade. The Duchess of Sussex spoke to award-winning journalist Jessica Yelling about the impact of the Supreme Court ruling on a Vogue film released on Tuesday. While discussing Harry’s thoughts on the decision, the 40-year-old said that “his reaction last week was as spontaneous as mine”. “Men need to be vocal right now, and not just because these are decisions that affect relationships, families and communities in general,” the former American actress explained. “Women may be targeted, but the consequences affect us all. My husband and I have talked about it a lot in recent days. He is also a feminist.” The mother of two stressed that it is important for people, now more than ever, to “unite”. This moment requires unity – to really listen to the people, to understand the Constitution was written at a time when women were second-class citizens. We are not “Some things need to change.” “I think it’s just as much to honor the people who did the job long before us, like [feminist icon] Gloria [Steinem]”, he continued. “I am grateful that I am holding a baton next to her and that we will continue to do this work together.” The former star of “Suits” also thought about her dismissal. In 2020, she wrote an opinion article for the New York Times detailing her experience in the hope of helping others. She and Harry, 37, are the parents of a son named Archie, 3, and a daughter, Lilibet, 1. “I think about how lucky I was to be able to have both of my children,” Markle said. “I know what it is like to relate to what is developing inside your body. What happens to our body is so deeply personal, which can also lead to silence and stigma, even though many of us experience personal health crises. I know “How is abortion, which I have spoken about in public. The more we normalize the discussion about things that affect our lives and our bodies, the more people will understand how necessary protection measures are.” CLICK HERE TO SUBSCRIBE TO THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTER Megan Markle had an in-depth discussion with Gloria Steinem and Jessica Galen. No one should be forced to make a decision that they do not want to make, or that is not safe or that endangers their lives. Honestly, whether it is a a woman who is put in an unthinkable situation, a woman who is not ready to start a family or even a couple who deserves to plan their family in a way that makes more sense to them, has to do with the choice “. Markle also noted how grateful she was to have such open discussions with various women, including Steinem, 88, who spoke about her experience with abortion. “It’s interesting that you’re talking to two women here: one who chose to give birth happily and one who chose not to give birth happily,” Markle said. “And we are both prosperous because we were able to make our own choices. Unbelievable.” Steinem said the ERA had been ratified by “the required number of states” and called for pressure on the White House and Congress to pass it. Markle replied: “Well, Gloria, it may seem that you and I are going on a trip to [Washington] DC together soon. “ MEGHAN MARKLE COLD CALLS VOTERS WITH GLORIA STEINEM TO OVERCOME THE VOTE Following the ruling, protests erupted in several cities, including thousands protesting outside the blockade of the Supreme Court. Women with resources will travel to have an abortion, those who could not try to have an abortion at great risk. “Some will have to get abortion pills from uncontrolled pharmacies. Others who are pregnant and in a medical emergency will be at the mercy of doctors and lawyers to determine if a procedure needed to save her life can even be done. “What does this say to women? It tells us that our physical safety does not matter, and therefore does not matter. But we do. Women do matter.” “These issues are systemic, interconnected and preventable,” Markle said. “Women of color and especially black women are most affected by these decisions because most of us do not have the same access to health care, financial opportunities, mental health resources … the list goes on.” PRINCE HARRY RETURNS TO CALIFORNIA FOR THE FIRST TIME FROM INTENSIVE RENAISSANCE WITH THE ROYAL FAMILY AT THE QUEEN’S JUBILEE Megan Markle used to spend time calmly with voters with social activist Gloria Steinem. (AP / Reuters) Roe v. Wade was the landmark Supreme Court ruling of 1973 that granted women the right to abortion in any state. The Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision on June 24 abolished the constitutional right to abortion, giving individual states the power to decide whether to allow the procedure. The reversal of the ruling by the court is likely to lead to an abortion ban in about half of the states. Pregnant women considering abortion had already faced an almost complete ban in Oklahoma and a ban after about six weeks in Texas. Clinics in at least eight other states – Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri, South Dakota, Wisconsin and West Virginia – have stopped having abortions following a Supreme Court ruling. In Ohio, banning most abortions with the first detectable fetal heartbeat became law when a federal judge overturned an order that kept the measure on hold for nearly three years. Utah law was also triggered by the ruling, which came into force with a few exceptions. Markle became Duchess of Sussex when she married the British prince in May 2018 at Windsor Castle. The departure of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from royal office began in 2020 due to what they described as British media incursions and a racist attitude towards Markle. The Duchess spoke of the intense isolation she felt within the royal family that led her to consider suicide. Buckingham Palace said the couple’s allegations of racism were “worrying” and would be considered privately. The Associated Press contributed to this report.
