According to the Manitoba government, the following highways are closed:

Highway 5 from eight kilometers east of Highway 584 to the Saskatchewan border, Highway 16 from Highway 83 to the Saskatchewan border. Highway 41 from Highway 16 to Saint Lazare. Highway 45 from Russell to the town of Vista. and Highway 83 from Russell to Highway 489.

The Division scolaire franco-manitobaine (DSFM) has announced that buses are canceled for the following schools: École Saint-Joachim, École Saint-Lazare, École Régionale Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, École Gilbert-Rosset, École Saint-Joachim, École Saint-Lazare and École La Source Shilo.

All schools are closed in the Rolling River School Division and Fort La Bosse School Division. Afternoon bus service is canceled for District A and B schools in the Prairie Rose School Division. This includes Miami, Rolland, Carman, Elm Creek, Ely, St. Francois Xavier and St. Eustatius. The school department is asking parents and guardians to pick up their children at school. The Garden Valley school district also canceled all afternoon bus service and said schools would remain open until all students were picked up. These closures and cancellations come as a special weather statement remains in effect for southern Manitoba. According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), southern Manitoba has received eight to 15 centimeters (cm) of snow since Tuesday afternoon. In Winnipeg specifically, snowfall totals ranged from nine to 13 centimeters. However, there are no official totals as of yet. Those in southeastern Manitoba can expect a band of heavier snow on Thursday, with freezing sleet. Western Manitoba is expected to receive another five to 10 centimeters of snow Wednesday night. By the weekend, some areas of southern Manitoba will have received upwards of 20 to 30 cm of snow. More information about snowfall can be found online.
