A Queens man took a death-defying leap from an elevated subway platform to a nearby store roof as he tried to escape police officers.
Kendall Floyd, 25, was initially pulled over for driving without a seat belt at an intersection in Brooklyn shortly after 4pm on Wednesday.
But the altercation quickly escalated when Floyd opened the door of his vehicle, wounded an officer in the arm and fled, the New York Post reported.
He was then cornered by police at a junction about three minutes away, but refused to surrender and instead climbed the support beam of an elevated subway platform and onto the elevated tracks.
As horrified onlookers and police begged him to come down, Floyd did so by defying death from the rails on a roof.
He was later arrested and taken to Woodhull Medical Center, where he was treated for a leg injury. It is unclear how serious his injury was.

During Floyd’s attempted escape, officers cornered him three blocks away, but Floyd seemed determined to avoid the police and tried his luck by jumping.
“Don’t do it, man! It’s not worth it!’ a man who recorded the incident pleaded with Floyd.
After Floyd landed on the roof of the business, the video shows officers attempting to gain access to the roof by climbing a fence next door.
Floyd was charged with assault on a police officer, reckless endangerment and official misconduct.
Officers cornered him three blocks away, but Floyd seemed determined to evade the police and tried his luck by jumping.
Floyd also faces charges of false personation, two counts of trespassing, disorderly conduct and a seat belt violation.
According to the Post, squads followed him closely after he left the retreat.
Records obtained by DailyMail.com show that Floyd was due to be released from parole at the end of 2023.
He was arrested in 2017 and charged with third-degree burglary. Floyd was released from prison in 2019.
