The BC Wildfire Service dispatched the Penticton tanker group in May, which will remain at the airport and in the area until early September or as long as needed. According to BCWS, given the current relatively cool weather and low fire activity, these actions will be primarily to maintain operational readiness. Local photographer Mike Biden stopped by to give an inside look at the planes and their pilots. Planes will be ready to serve the entire area in case fires break out.
