After Australian pop culture blog poptopic.com.au published a story last month titled, “Johnny Depp’s $301M Disney Deal Revealed?!” the persistent team at Snopes smelled something funny and went in to investigate. Their noses were correct… The rumor, which was said to have been shared on Reddit, TikTok, Facebook and Twitter, claimed that Depp, who was fresh off his successful defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard, had been offered a huge sum money from The Walt. Disney Studios will star once again as the character of the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean”, Jack Sparrow. “However, we have yet to find evidence that there is an agreement for any amount of money between Depp and Disney.”
