At least 10 people were killed early Friday in a Russian rocket attack on a residential building in Odessa, southern Ukraine, officials said. The rocket hit a nine-storey apartment building in the Black Sea port of Ukraine, leading to the collapse of part of the building. “The death toll from the strike in a high-rise apartment building has now risen to 10,” said Serhiy Bratsuk, a spokesman for the Odessa regional administration. This comes just hours after Ukraine ousted Russian forces from Snake Island’s main Black Sea outpost. Boris Johnson, meanwhile, has downplayed President Vladimir Putin’s estimated 35 nuclear threats since launching his military operation – insisting he could overcome the Ukrainian resistance by conventional means. “I think it is very, very important that we do not allow ourselves to be swayed by this kind of rattling,” Johnson told LBC’s Nick Ferrari in an interview marking the end of the NATO summit in Spain. “Because basically, what Putin is trying to do is to rephrase it against Russia against NATO,” he said.

Satellite imagery shows devastated Snake Island after Russia’s withdrawal
Ukraine marked its victory on Thursday, after repelling Russian forces from the strategic Black Sea outpost on Snake Island. The island was occupied by Russia on the first day of its invasion of Ukraine. However, Russia has said it withdrew from Snake Island as a “gesture of goodwill” and did not stand in the way of UN efforts to open a humanitarian corridor to transport grain from Ukraine. Satellite images published by Maxar Technologies showed smoke being emitted by burning vehicles and structures at various locations throughout the northern part of the island. The situation in Donbas is “tougher, extremely difficult,” says Zelensky
Volodymyr Zelensky said the country’s battle to the east was fierce as Russia continued its weekly offensive to seize separatist territory. “The situation in Donbass remains the most difficult, extremely difficult. “The occupiers’ supremacy in the fire is still extremely tangible – they have already taken everything from their reserves to strike us: the Luhansk region, the Donetsk region,” he said late Thursday. Mr Zelensky thanked the Ukrainian soldiers and said he was “grateful to all those who defended our positions in such circumstances”. That is true heroism, he said. He praised Ukrainian fighters, including gunners, Air Force and Air Force pilots, the command of “Oleksandriya” for liberating the island of snakes from Russian forces after months. “Undoubtedly, the main word today is Zmiinyi. Apparently, there was just as much talk about Zmiinyi just the day the Russian ship arrived. After the ship left – forever, and now the island is free again. “I am grateful to the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Service, the Alpha fighters, I am grateful to our gunners, the pilots of the Air Force and the Air Force, the command of the Oleksandriya,” he said. He added that the island, known as Zmiinyi Island in Ukraine, is a strategic point and “significantly changes the situation in the Black Sea.” “It does not guarantee security yet, it does not guarantee that the enemy will not return. But it already significantly limits the actions of the conquerors. “Step by step, we will drive them out of the sea, our land and our sky,” said Zelensky. Arpan Rai 1 July 2022 05:16 1656646366

Officials said a rescue operation was under way as it was reported that some people were buried under the ruble. Arpan Rai 1 July 2022 04:32 1656640854
Western leaders, including Boris Johnson, would look “disgusting” topless, Putin says
A emaciated Vladimir Putin retaliated against British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and other Western leaders who ridiculed his stubborn topless exploits, with the Russian leader claiming he would look “disgusting” if they tried to imitate him. Earlier this week, Mr Johnson joked that G7 leaders could take off their clothes to “show that we are tougher than Putin” amid Russia-West tensions over Moscow’s military action in Ukraine. He added that we should “show our comments”. Emily Atkinson July 1, 2022 3:00 p.m. 1656637254

Boris Johnson’s military spending for 2030 promised ‘weak’, senior Toris say
Boris Johnson has tried to heal a rift in the cabinet by promising to increase defense spending to 2.5 per cent of Britain’s economic output by the end of the decade. The prime minister wrapped up a NATO summit in Madrid with a pledge that more than 55 55 billion could be added to military budgets this decade, following calls from Ben Wallace for more money. However, senior Conservatives said the prime minister’s ambition remained “weak” and the target was far away, given the seriousness of Vladimir Putin’s imminent threat from Russia after the invasion of Ukraine.
