Cassidy Hutchinson, the top aide to former President Donald Trump’s last chief of staff, Mark Meadows, gave a riveting account of scenes that reached the limits of irrationality as the United States Capitol was besieged by his supporters before the event. One of the stories he told was how Trump, as later described by Trevor Noah, lost his wizard when he learned of an interview given by then-Attorney General Bill Barr to the Associated Press. Hubbard recounted a scene she saw as she walked into the dining room, where, according to the White House clerk who was about to clean the ketchup off the wall, the then president had thrown his lunch — and his plate — at the wall. Asked if this was an isolated example, Hubbard replied: “There were many cases during my tenure where I realized he was throwing dishes or twisting the tablecloth to let all the contents of the table fall to the floor.” Or, as Noah summed it up on the Daily Show, “Trump was constantly throwing food rage.” Many of the hosts participated in what Jimmy Kimmel Live! Host Chelsea Handler described it as a “really crazy” moment. Hutchinson described being told that Trump tried to head to the Capitol himself on Jan. 6. “I’m the awful president, take me to the Capitol now,” Trump allegedly screamed at the details of his Secret Service in the presidential limousine. Rejected by agents, Trump allegedly tried to grab the wheel of the armored car, known as The Beast, to steer the vehicle himself. “Sir, you have to get your hands off the wheel,” Secret Service agent Robert Engel told Trump, according to Hutchinson. “We’re going back to the West Wing, we’re not going to the Capitol,” Engel continued, grabbing one of Trump’s hands. Trump allegedly then tried to attack Engel, the head of his secret service. “This is not the way to behave like a Secret Service agent. “This is how you treat a contestant behind the scenes of the Miss Universe pageant,” Huntler said ironically before adding, “It turns out that Donald Trump was even more of a purse than we previously thought.” Steven Colbert highlighted the details of Trump’s alleged turn to Engel. “Go for the neck!” said Colbert. “When you become a member of the Secret Service, you expect to get one for president, but not from the president.” Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show came back saying, “Always good when you need a Secret Service to protect the Secret Service.
