(Stock image.) A kayaker had to be rescued after capsizing near Northern Bay Sands on Saturday. RCMP say two people were paddling in the area when one of them went into the water. The Coast Guard received the distress call early yesterday afternoon, requesting help from anyone in the immediate area. Police say the second kayaker managed to pluck the other from the ocean and bring them to shore on a rock cliff, where they were eventually reached and rescued. The person who ended up in the ocean was treated for exposure to the cold water. It’s not clear what caused the kayak to capsize.
