Caitlin Marie Armstrong, 34, returned to Austin six days after her arrest in Costa Rica, hiding and studying yoga with an altered appearance and apparent cosmetic surgery. Armstrong was charged Tuesday afternoon in the May 11 slaying of 25-year-old Anna Moriah Wilson, who had a romantic fling with Armstrong’s live-in boyfriend and went swimming with him hours before she was killed. The struggling yogi also faces theft of services charges for running up a $654 bill for Botox from a local spa in Travis County, Texas, in 2018, according to jail records. She was back in the states on Saturday, with ABC video showing her being escorted by US Marshals from George W. Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston on Saturday. Fugitive yoga teacher Caitlin Armstrong was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder. The murder and Armstrong’s elaborate attempt to evade capture attracted national attention and sparked an international manhunt that lasted more than a month. Her longtime boyfriend Colin Strickland, also a cyclist, had dated Wilson last fall while she was reportedly out with Armstrong. Armstrong learned of the flight in January and told a friend she “wanted to kill Wilson,” according to a police affidavit published by the Austin American-Statesman. Strickland reportedly denied an ongoing relationship with Wilson, but lied to Armstrong about his whereabouts when he met with Wilson on May 11, when she was visiting Austin from San Francisco to prepare for an upcoming fight. Murder victim Anna Moriah Wilson had an affair with her boyfriend Caitlin Armstrong while the two were out. Instagram / Moriah Wilson Strickland picked Wilson up from her friend’s house on a motorcycle, went for a swim and had dinner before dropping her off, the affidavit said. A vehicle matching Armstrong’s black Jeep Grand Cherokee was seen arriving at the friend’s house moments after Wilson dropped off. She was found later that night, shot multiple times in a bathroom of the residence, the affidavit said. Armstrong was later questioned by police in the shooting, but was reportedly released due to a technical error in the Botox tab warrant. It’s not clear why it took officers so long to arrest Armstrong for theft of services. Cyclist Colin Strickland had gone swimming with Anna Moriah Wilson hours before he was murdered by Caitlin Armstrong. The yoga instructor then sold the Jeep for $12,200 and took a flight from Austin to New York. Days later, she was dropped off at Newark Liberty International Airport and used a valid passport belonging to someone else to fly to Costa Rica. When she was arrested at a hostel last week, authorities said she was wearing a bandage over her nose and had cut her hair and dyed it from a light reddish-brown color to a darker shade. A witness told “Inside Edition” she left behind her passport, a passport that belonged to her sister — and a $6,350 receipt for cosmetic surgery.
