The Dane made four starts, having been rested for the group game against Israel with England having already secured a place in the knockouts, with two goals and one assist. “As a Club, we are extremely proud of Alfie and Dane for their achievements at the tournament,” said Academy Director Dean Rastrick. “For both players to go away with England, play the way they did and help their country win the trophy is fantastic – this is a big moment in their young careers and we’re very pleased for them. Hopefully they can now use this experience to their advantage as they continue to work hard and develop in the future.” Ryan Sessegnon, then of Fulham, was part of the Young Lions team that won the European Under-19 Championship five years ago, along with our former Academy midfielder Marcus Edwards.
