After four years in French Catholic high school, Catherine graduated from Franco-Cité last year and continued her studies at uOttawa, while Jasmine completed 10th grade last week. Little sister Ready was “a real sunshine, very kind to everyone around her, always worried about everyone’s well-being, very nice and respectful,” Ducharme said. Jasmine had many friends and these students “are devastated,” Ducharme said. “Some of them are here today. It’s really sad to see that.” Franco-Cité students started their summer vacation last week. The school tried to contact them as soon as possible to share what had happened to the Ready family and offer support, Ducharme said. The students were invited to return to school on Thursday, where a group of social workers was made available. It is a support that the director said that she can continue to take care of those who need her, all summer long.

CBC Ottawa reported on Thursday that according to some relatives, he had shown romantic interest in one of the Ready sisters and was told to stop communicating with her. Both received their black belts at a recent ceremony, according to co-founder John Douvris. In an email sent to this newspaper, Douvris said the mother and daughter were “kind, compassionate, energetic and supportive people” whose “beautiful smiles and polite laughter made the dojo and karate community a better place for us “. “Our whole karate family mourns this unexplained and huge loss.” Jasmine and Anne-Marie Ready at their graduation with the black belt.
