Toronto police say drivers heading to watch fireworks along the waterfront will have to wait for traffic delays as there will be roadblocks on Lake Shore Boulevard East.
“Consider using public transportation all weekend,” Const.  Alex Lee said on Thursday.  “We ask the public to be patient.  We want everyone to have a safe time and to celebrate responsibly this weekend “.

Canada Day 
Celebrations at Mel Lastman Square:


	Yonge Street will be closed between North York Boulevard and Park Home Avenue from 12 p.m.  until 23:59 on Friday.  		Hillcrest Avenue from Yonge Street up to 30 meters east of Yonge Street will be closed from 7 p.m.  until 23:59  		The south sidewalk of Yonge Street in front of Mel Lastman Square is closed and will not open until 5 p.m.  Saturday’s.

East York Parade Day in Canada:


	Cosburn Avenue will be closed from Greenwood to Woodbine from 8 p.m.  until 11:30 a.m.  on Friday, as well as Woodbine Avenue from Cosburn Avenue to Trenton. 

ActiveTO 
The following road will be closed from 7 am on Saturday until 7 pm on Sunday:


	Bayview Avenue from Rosedale Valley Road to Lawren Harris Square  		River Street between Bayview Avenue and Spruce Street 

TTC 
Friday: TTC will operate according to a holiday schedule and has increased services to accommodate those attending Canada Day celebrations.


	Downsview Park Celebrations: Customers can take Line 1 to Downsview Park Station.  Route 101 Downsview Park will be suspended from 3 p.m.  until 11:59 p.m.  		Mel Lastman Square: Bus 97 Yonge will divert from 11 a.m.  until 23:59 to host the celebrations in the square.  Anyone attending the event can pick up Line 1 at the North York Center.  		East York Parade: Bus services 70 O’Conner, 87 Cosburn, 91 Woodbine and 93 Parkview Hills will be diverted between 8 p.m.  and 11:30 a.m.  for the parade. 


Saturday and Sunday: There will be no Metro service on Line 2 between Jane and Ossington Stations due to track work.  Buses will run.

Closure of constructions 


	Wellesley Street East from Ontario Street to Sherbourne Street has been reduced to one lane to the west for the reconstruction of bike lanes and roads.  		Wellington Street East from Yonge Street to Church Street is reduced to one lane to the west for TTC track replacement and sidewalk improvements.  		Queensway lanes between Parkside Drive and Roncesvalles Avenue are reduced to at least one shared lane in each direction for King-Queen-Queensway-Roncesvalles TTC road replacement and reconstruction work.  King Street West is also closed at this intersection.  		Scarlett Road is reduced to one lane in each direction to replace the culvert at Humber Creek.  		Bloor Street East is reduced to one lane in each direction to replace the Glen Road Bridge and tunnel.  		Kipling Avenue from Ganthorn Avenue to Snaresbrook Drive is reduced to one lane in each direction to replace culverts in Barry Creek.  		Royal York Road from North Drive to Country Club Drive is reduced to one lane in each direction to replace a culvert on the Humber River.  		Shoreham Drive near Jane Street has been reduced to one lane in each direction to restore the footbridge.  		Royal York Road from Leland Avenue to Thompson Avenue is reduced to a lane with a temporary traffic sign to rehabilitate the bridge over Mimico Creek.  		Queensway west of Windermere Avenue is reduced to two lanes in each direction to rehabilitate the bridge below South Kingsway.  		Bloor Street West from Dundas Street West on Perth Avenue is reduced to two lanes in each direction for bridge restoration and road reconstruction.  		The South Kingsway from the Gardiner Express to Ripley is reduced to two lanes in each direction to restore the bridge.  		Cummer Avenue from Bayview Avenue to Leslie Street is limited to one lane to the east for bridge restoration and road reconstruction.  		The Overlea Boulevard Bridge over the Don River is reduced to one lane in each direction to restore the bridge.  		Lake Shore Boulevard West between Bay and York has been reduced to one for gas replacement. 

Parking 
The Toronto Parking Enforcement Unit will not enforce the following street parking regulations on Friday:


	routes at peak hours  		posted signs indicating regulations from Monday to Friday 

Weather 
The weekend will be mostly clear.  On Canada Day, it will be a combination of sun and clouds with a 40 percent chance of rain in the afternoon.  The high will be 29 C with humidex 35.
It will also be sunny on Saturday and Sunday with temperatures of 26 and 24, respectively.
