Emergency services were called to the crash after a red Ford Fiesta and a black Mercedes C Class collided on the A9 at Slochd Summit on Tuesday at around 11.40am. David McPherson, 68, was pronounced dead at the scene, while his wife Elsa McPherson, 64, and their two-year-old grandson were taken to hospital, where they both died a short time later. The occupants of the black Mercedes, a 67-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman, were taken to hospital after the crash and are described by medical staff as being in a stable condition.
