RELATED: God of War series in talks for Prime Video It was clear that something about Ragnarök’s release date was coming soon. Bloomberg reported that Sony had settled on a November date and would announce the exact day in late June. Twitter account PlayStation Game Size found that Sony had internally moved the game’s date from September to December, signaling a fall release window. The game was also recently rated on a Korean rating board. Insider The Snitch tweeted out a God of War hint hinting at an imminent release date announcement. Santa Monica Studio’s Cory Barlog even started posting vague teases on Twitter ahead of this announcement, in addition to adorning his profile in several cryptic ellipses and periods. The release date of The Last of Us Part I also left an opening for Sony to release another major first-part game later in the fall. However, it seems that the announcement did not go as originally planned. A tweet from Barlog and a less cryptic Twitter account hinted at a delay. He then made it clear that there would not be an unveiling event on June 30th. According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, it appeared the game itself hadn’t yet been pushed, which some assumed after reading too much into this late announcement. However, that hasn’t stopped people harassing people on the development team. The studio even sent out a tweet condemning the toxic behavior.
