Chicago acquired the No. 13 overall pick and No. 66 overall from Montreal during the first round in exchange for forward Kirby Dach. Nazar, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound native of Mount Clemens, Mich., had 105 points (43G, 62A) in 80 total games with the USA U18 program last season. He also skated in six games for the USA at the U18 World Junior Championships, scoring nine points (3G, 6A) as the Americans took silver. Nazar will attend the University of Michigan in the fall to continue his development. After another trade earlier in the evening that sent Alex DeBrincat to Ottawa in exchange for picks No. 7 overall and No. 39 overall this year, plus a third-round pick in 2024, Chicago has seven more picks in rounds two and three from the rounds.
