Mary’s spokeswoman Craig Dorfman tells TMZ … investigators have informed her family of new evidence … that she may have died after slipping and hitting her head after bathing in Cape Vincent. They say he took a dip in the river St. Lawrence on Sunday morning – one of her favorite places to swim … and after she came out of the water, investigators believe she slipped and hit her head, causing her to fall into the water and drown. Their reasoning … when they recovered her body had abrasions on her face. So far there is no working theory as to which object injured her head … but they believe that the only logical explanation is that she came in contact with an object that either made her unconscious or weakened. As we have mentioned, researchers have ruled out the idea of foul. Dorfman says he and Mary’s family believe that drugs or alcohol did not play a role in her death. Mary’s family has deeply appreciated the burst of support she has received over the past two days.
