8:10 am — Rain and thunderstorm chances decrease Friday before increasing Friday night into Saturday In a difficult week for precipitation forecasts, the overnight model runs leave us with a few impressions:
While a few thunderstorms could develop this afternoon and evening due to high humidity – especially south of Interstate 66, many areas may remain dry. A pop-up shower or storm can’t be ruled out during Friday, but much of that day could also be dry. the chance for showers and thunderstorms will increase in the evening and overnight. Saturday’s forecast continues to trend poorly with clouds and rain possibly lasting much of the day.
Initial forecast from 5 am A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10. 4/10: Storms are likely to be a threat. high humidity will make you sweat.
Today: Mostly cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms, very humid. High: 83 to 87. Tonight: Wet with rain and thunderstorms. Low: 67 to 73. Tomorrow: Stormy with showers and possible thunderstorms. High: 84 to 88.
It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity! Highs in the 80s aren’t eye-catching, but humidity is oppressive for the next couple of days. Tempests are definitely the “hit” style that pops up here and there. A slow moving cool front finally comes to the rescue over the weekend, cleaning us up and drying us out for Sunday and Monday. Today (Thursday): The dangers of a rain or thunderstorm continue throughout the day, but most are short-lived and can be hit or miss, making a radar app a great companion. Despite the clouds, highs still climb into the mid-80s. The humidity feels like a sauna with dew points in the mid 70’s. Breezes are minimal. Confidence: Medium-High Tonight: Clouds hold through the night, but showers and storms should die down by late evening. Winds are near calm and lows stay in the 60s to low 70s. Confidence: Medium-High Follow us on Facebook, Twitterand Instagram for the latest weather updates. Read on for the forecast through the weekend… Tomorrow (Friday): Most of the strongest storms should be well south of the region, but high humidity maintains the risk of emerging showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening. Highs reach the mid-80s and breezes are still lacking. Confidence: Medium-High Tomorrow night: A cool front may eventually begin to creep into the region, and this could serve to spark more numerous storms with the potential for some notable rainfall. Showers keep humidity painfully high as lows remain in the 60s to low 70s. Confidence: Moderate Saturday it’s a transition day, hopefully, as drier air begins to bleed into the area. Given how late this is likely to happen, it’s best to just plan for further chances of scattered showers/thunderstorms throughout the day. With any luck, there should be enough breaks to get out and about some time in the afternoon. Highs are mostly in the low 80s. Skies finally clear overnight with lows in the low to mid 60s. Confidence: Moderate Super summer weather is settling in Sunday and Monday with low humidity and sunny skies. We are in the low 80s for highs, and the low to mid 60s for lows will feel great. Confidence: Moderate
