BC Prime Minister John Horgan has announced he will step down as leader of the BC NDP in the autumn when his replacement is elected. Horgan still has more than two years in his second term as prime minister, with provincial elections scheduled for October 2024. In Canada, the leader of a political party with the most seats becomes prime minister. He is resigning for health reasons, having recently passed his last period of cancer.
