HT: Costa Rica 0-1 Germany Wait, it’s just a zero? Yes, there is, incredibly, only one goal separating the two teams. But it can be 5, 6 or even more. Germany had Costa Rica not only against the ropes, but her gloves, clothes and hair were down. It looked as though the Central Americans were about to break all sorts of negative records and Benzema would parachute into the center circle to present the Ballon d’Or to Jamal Musiala. But football is never as simple as it seems (OK, 7-0 against Spain was kind of) and somehow Costa Rica called the punches and managed a few body shots of their own. I guess, and it’s crazy to say, it’s all to play for in the second half. Germany can’t afford to shut down like they did at the back and Costa Rica will know that a couple of goals in both legs is all they need to turn things around, so let’s not call for a TKO just yet. .
